Catch the keynote live (provided you meet some pretty Apple-centric requirements—see below). No one but Tim Cook and his inner circle ever know for sure what’s going to be announced at such things, but today’s event is strongly rumored to herald the introduction of a new Apple iPhone.
If you aren’t able to watch the livestream, plenty of tech sites are liveblogging the event. Here are a few links:
Requirements: Live streaming uses Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology. HLS requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with Safari on iOS 7.0 or later, a Mac with Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X v10.8.5 or later, or a PC with Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Streaming via Apple TV requires an Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) with software 6.2 or later or an Apple TV (4th generation).

Selecting that perfect gift for Mother’s Day can be… challenging. You’ve done the whole “flowers and a balloon” thing. Candy seems kind of… well, unimaginative. But what if you could give her something she’d truly treasure, something she could use and enjoy every day, all year ‘round? Something (besides you) she’ll love unconditionally?
Connecting Point has the solution. As an Apple Premier Partner, we sell, service, and support the iPod touch, the entire iPad family (including the amazing new iPad Pro models), and the revolutionary Apple Watch. Our experts can help you pick out the right model and color for her – and we’ll throw in a $50 gift card, so Mom can come in and pick out the perfect accessory for her new treasure.
She’ll have plenty of choices: We stock cases, sleeves, screen protectors, Smart Keyboards and Smart Covers, watch bands, and much, much more.
We’re also offering the pink iPod shuffle for just $35* – that’s $15 off our regular price.
So give a gift Mom will love unconditionally, the way moms do: iPod touch, iPad, Apple Watch, iPod shuffle, all on sale now through Sunday, May 8th only at Connecting Point.
*While supplies last, limit one per customer.

“The Ashland Independent Film Festival is one of those regional gems that gives me faith and hope for the future of independent cinema. Great town, great people, great atmosphere, great movies, great everything!”
Michael Tully, Director, PING PONG SUMMER
The Ashland Independent Film Festival is five days of the highest-quality independent film, held in historic Ashland, Oregon. The Washington Post called it “a dream you’ll never want to leave.” Every Spring, Southern Oregon buzzes with the excitement of the AIFF. Over 7000 film lovers gather at the historic art-deco Varsity Theatre, the Historic Ashland Armory, and other venues to watch over 90 documentary, feature, and short films over five days.
Filmmakers from around the world engage with the audience after each screening and at festival events such as Opening Night Bash, the AfterLounge, and Awards Celebration, which include local wine, beer, and gourmet food. Special guests have included Ty Burrell, Albert Maysles, Barbara Kopple, Helen Hunt, and Bruce Campbell. The Ashland Independent Film Festival: Celebrating the diversity of human experience through the art of independent film—enriching, educating and inspiring audiences of all ages.
The Oregonian newspaper’s Shawn Levy claims AIFF “offers movie lovers that same sense of being in a magical place…. Southern Oregon doesn’t have anything else like it – nor, in fact, do most places on Earth.”
Connecting Point returns for its fourth year as a Community Sponsor, providing an iMac computer and a wireless printer for the festival’s Hospitality Suite, where visiting filmmakers and other creatives can both work and relax. We urge you to support the thriving arts community in our area. Visit the AIFF website to see the rich variety of films being presented at this year’s festival. Better still, pick up some tickets and celebrate independent cinema with like-minded folks in Ashland! It all kicks off today and runs through Monday.

Every new year, a lot of us resolve to get back into shape. But what about your computer?
Has it been acting a little… flabby lately? Takes forever to boot up. Loads apps and documents oh so slowly. Or maybe it seems to be grinding away on something – anything– other than what you’re working on.
Connecting Point SERVICE can help. We’ve got three highly effective ways to PUMP UP YOUR COMPUTER:
- First, a MEMORY UPGRADE. More RAM gives your computer’s operating system and apps more room to do their work, making it noticeably faster. Memory is pretty affordable right now, so we recommend maxing out your computer.
- Second, a SOLID STATE DRIVE, or SSD. SSDs have no moving parts and are many times faster than hard drives (which it replaces). Once we install them, most of our customers say it feels like they’re using a brand new computer. And your old hard drive can be put into an external USB enclosure for additional storage.
- Third, a SYSTEM TUNE-UP. We’ll scan for viruses and malware, check all ports and components, update the operating system, and clear out unneeded programs.
One or more of these options can make a drastic difference in the performance of your system.
So let Connecting Point’s Service Department PUMP UP YOUR COMPUTER. Mac or PC, laptop or desktop, bring your system in before the end of the month and we’ll go over your options. It’s like a gym membership for your computer, except you don’t have to wait months – or drink kale smoothies – to see the results. Plus, print out this page and bring it in with you (or show it to our Service Writer from your mobile device), and we’ll knock 10% off your total bill.
This promotion runs from February 18th through 29th, 2016.
