Both Connecting Point locations will be closed Thursday, November 22nd, in observance of Turkey Day… er, Thanksgiving. Other than that, our hours will remain the same as usual for the entire holiday weekend.
Be safe, stay warm, keep dry, feast and enjoy. And don’t forget to watch this space for news of our “Black Friday” promotion.

With the introduction of iCloud at the release of OS X Lion, Apple discontinued iDisk, which was a part of the MobileMe suite of Internet services they had been offering.
iDisk gave you a “folder in the cloud,” a place to save documents for retrieval from any Mac, anywhere. It was simple to use—it was actually a menu selection in the Finder—and eminently useful. Those of us who used iDisk really miss it.
There is a workaround—and it’s both simple and free. There exists a hidden folder called Library, which contains another folder (“Mobile Documents”) with most of the functionality of iDisk. Here’s how to access it. (more…)

iPad mini: The full-blown iPad that fits in one hand.
We once thought them to be a mythical creature, akin to the unicorn or the jackalope, but we’re now True Believers: the iPad mini is real.
And we even have some available for sale. Specifically, our Medford store has the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB Wi-Fi models (only in black, and you may recall the LTE – AKA 4G – models won’t begin shipping until later this month).
Our Bend store has, at the time of this post, eight of the 32GB Wi-Fi models on hand — four in white, and four in black.
The iPad mini has been wildly popular and crazy-difficult to keep in stock. If you have holiday gifting plans built around one, you might want to act now. These are not going to be around for long.
UPDATE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12: Our Bend location is down to two 32GB Wi-Fi models (both white). But our Medford location has all Wi-Fi models and colors in stock, with the exception of 16GB white.

Week of November 2nd – 8th, 2012
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!
You know that horrible sinking feeling when you realize your iPhone or iPod is just about out of juice, and you don’t have your charger handy? Now, no matter where you are, you can keep your iOS device fully charged. A charger for home or office, a charger for the car, and a cable to fit either one. Works with most iPhones or iPods (except for the new iPhone 5 and the latest 5th-generation iPod touch, both of which use a new, incompatible 8-pin dock connector).
And at this price (just $7.99), how can you afford not to get one?
This offer runs from Friday, November 2nd to Thursday, November 8th, 2012, or while supplies last. Sorry, no rain checks.

Chances are, you have an iPod, iPhone, or iPad. If so, the chances are pretty good you’ve lost or worn out their USB cables a time or two. Apple charges $19 for their version of this cable. And the suggested retail for this compatible version is $14.99. When we first ran this offer back in June, the response was overwhelming. Customers kept asking if we could bring it back. So once again, this week you can stock up on these babies for a cool $2.99.
This offer runs from Friday, October 26th to Thursday, November 1st, 2012, or while supplies last. Please note these are the older 30-pin dock connector cables, and will not work with iPhone 5 or other devices using Apple’s new 8-pin connector. Sorry, no rain checks.
