iPad mini: The full-blown iPad that fits in one hand.
We once thought them to be a mythical creature, akin to the unicorn or the jackalope, but we’re now True Believers: the iPad mini is real.
And we even have some available for sale. Specifically, our Medford store has the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB Wi-Fi models (only in black, and you may recall the LTE – AKA 4G – models won’t begin shipping until later this month).
Our Bend store has, at the time of this post, eight of the 32GB Wi-Fi models on hand — four in white, and four in black.
The iPad mini has been wildly popular and crazy-difficult to keep in stock. If you have holiday gifting plans built around one, you might want to act now. These are not going to be around for long.
UPDATE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12: Our Bend location is down to two 32GB Wi-Fi models (both white). But our Medford location has all Wi-Fi models and colors in stock, with the exception of 16GB white.

It looks like the pundits and the rumor sites got it mostly right.
Yesterday, Apple announced a Shrinky Dinked addition to their tablet family, the iPad mini (7.9-inch 1024 x 768 display versus the original’s 9.7-inch one, making for a pencil-thin form factor you can hold in one hand).
Apple also announced a new version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, this time with a 2560 x 1600 Retina display. And they previewed a Kate Moss-thin revamp of the iMac (say goodbye to built-in SuperDrive, and hello to faster Intel Core quad-core processors, Thunderbolt, and an innovative hybrid storage system Apple calls Fusion Drive). The redesigned, ultra-portable iPod nano has a larger Multi-Touch display; plays music, FM radio, and videos; includes built-in Bluetooth technology; and features a pedometer and Nike+ support for fitness.
About the size of a credit card — and just 5.4 mm thin — the new iPod nano is the thinnest iPod ever made. The 2.5-inch Multi-Touch display is nearly twice as big as the display on the previous iPod nano, so you can see more of the music, photos, and videos you love. Buttons let you quickly play, pause, change songs, or adjust the volume. The smooth new anodized aluminum design makes iPod nano feel as good as it sounds. And iPod nano wouldn’t be iPod nano without your choice of seven gorgeous, hard-to-choose-from colors.

The all-new MacBook Pro pushes the limits of notebook performance. It has a stunning Retina display with over 5 million pixels. An all-flash architecture built for speed. The latest quad-core Intel Core i7 processors and next-generation NVIDIA graphics. And an incredibly thin and light design. You’ve never seen anything like it. Because there’s never been anything like it. The MacBook Pro with Retina display is available in a 15-inch model.
You really have to see it to believe it. Fortunately, that’s not a problem: it’s in stock right now at Connecting Point. (more…)
