Apple Event October 2018 announcements Brooklyn Academy of Music Tim Cook

This morning brought an Apple event to the Howard Gilman Opera House at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Here are that event’s three main announcements (some of which have been a long time coming).

Radically redesigned iPad Pro.

Available in 11‑inch and 12.9‑inch models, iPad Pro has an all-new all‑screen design (including edge-to-edge display and no Home button!), a Liquid Retina display with ProMotion technology, an A12X Bionic chip, and Face ID. Apple also introduced a revised Apple Pencil and new Smart Keyboard Folio.

We are currently accepting pre-orders for new iPad Pro models, and expect delivery to begin November 7th.

Wait, what? They updated the Mac mini?

Completely redesigned with new eighth‑generation six‑core and quad‑core processors, high‑performance 2666MHz DDR4 memory up to 64GB, up to 2TB all‑flash storage, Thunderbolt 3 (USB‑C), HDMI 2.0, and available 10Gb Ethernet. Plus, check out its sleek new Space Gray color!

Meet the new MacBook Air, now with Retina display.

The new thinner and lighter MacBook Air features a 13.3‑inch Retina display, Touch ID, Thunderbolt 3 (USB‑C), the latest‑generation butterfly keyboard, and a Force Touch trackpad. And with an enclosure made with 100 percent recycled aluminum, Apple says it’s their greenest Mac ever.
